The majority of our family own cats. I have one, my daughter has one, my mother in law has one, my sister in law has two... and this means we all get through a load of cat food pouches and you can't recycle these. so trying to be as eco friendly as possible we had a brain storm and came up with the idea of making them into bags. Much like the juice packet bags you get.
We cut them open and bleach them (to ensure they are properly clean), then stitch them into panels and fabric line them for hand bags or plastic line them for art tote bags. They have become very popular and we now sell them at craft fairs and in a local gift shop.
Most of all, we want to encourage people to think before they through things in the bin. Ask yourself "What would Di do with that?" and you, too, could become more eco friendly :)
This is really good tip for cat food pouches related.

What a charming idea, you have left me with lots of ideas. Only thing is having time to put them into practice...
